South Holderness Dodgeball
South Holderness dodgeball competition was held on Tuesday January 19th at South Holderness Technology College. We had 7 schools participate: Aldbrough, Burstwick/Paull, Hedon, Inmans, Preston, Skirlaugh and Thorngumbald. Over 50 pupils enjoying a dodgeball competition, a lot of strong throwing was evident as was great tactical and team play. The pupils all displayed good sportsmanship and it was such a lovely atmosphere with so many pupils enjoying an evening of sport. The event would not have been so successful without the sixth form girls volunteering their time to referee the matches, a difficult job with so much to watch during a game.
We ran two pools
Pool A Results
1st - Skirlaugh
2nd - Paull/Burstwick
3rd - Hedon
4th - Aldbrough
Pool B Results
1st - Thorn
2nd - Preston
3rd - Inmans
We then had some play off games. Skirlaugh played Preston, a very tight competitive game, but in the end victory went to Skirlaugh. The second play off game was Paull/Burstwick against Thorn, an equally competitive game with Burstwick/Paull displaying some strong throwing but in the end Thorn took the winning score.
Both Skirlaugh and Thorn now go through to the School Games Level 2 competition at Longcroft School on Tuesday, 1st March. Congratulations to both qualifying teams.
