Orienteering
A wet and cold evening did not deter the orienteers from the Hornsea schools at their annual cluster event. Year 5/6 children from Beeford, Leven, Riston and Sigglesthorne took part in a competitive evening's map reading at a very damp Leven. The determination of all the children to succeed & complete the courses was impressive and they did a great job, with varied success at navigating the courses successfully!
The Year 5 competition was the closest with the top 10 pairs being well spread across the schools, the summary of those qualifying in the Year 5 comp is as follows:
Leven top 3 pairs - Georgia & Romilly / Lily & Isobel / Bethany & Sophie
Other pairs - Harrison & Jacob - Beeford / Imogen & Nancy - Sigglesthorne
The Year 6 competition 3 pairs that qualified for the next round were:
Charlie / George - Leven
Matt / Lucas - Leven
Sam / Ben - Beeford
Helpers from Hornsea Secondary were on hand as usual to assist with the orienteers and did a great job in officiating in the damp conditions!
Thanks to Leven for hosting and also to Neil Harvatt from HALO for the loan of the equipment.
Congratulations & good luck to everyone in the next round!
