Hornsea Dodgeball

Ready, steady . . .

Wow - what a night!  The 2nd annual dodgeball was held for the 1st time in the sports hall at Hornsea Leisure Centre.  This proved to be a massive success, as we had 8 teams participating in the event being able to have 4 games taking place simultaneously enabled all the teams to be active at the same time.  Teams from Hornsea CP, Leven, Brandesburton, Riston and Beeford all took part in the event.  The afternoon was action packed and the pace of the games was fast and furious throughout.

All the matches were very competitive which led to some really close results.  The newest member of our cluster - Brandesburton was unbeaten so qualified for the next round as winners of the event.  However, there was a 2nd place in the next round up for grabs and the results for this proved to be very tight indeed.  After playing all 7 matches, Beeford and Leven B both had 17 points, so the 2nd place was decided by points difference, with Leven B coming out on top by just 2 points!  Congratulations must go to Brandesburton and Leven B who qualify for the next round, but also to all of the teams especially Beeford, who came so close!

Special mention must go to the Young Leaders from Hornsea Secondary School who gave up their free time to officiate the games and help the whole event run smoothly.
