Longcroft hosted eight small schools at the Schools Football Competition on Tuesday, 3rd October; Woodmansey, St Johns, Tickton, Cherry Burton, Leconfield, Walkington, Wawne & Keldmarsh.

The format had 2 pools of teams and the winner of each pool played in a final. It was a fierce competition as 2 schools (Woodmansey and Cherry Burton) had to play an extra match and go to penalties to decide who went thorugh to the final. An emotional rollercoaster for those teams. We then went to a final between Woodmansey and Keldmarsh, which also went to extra time. A tense evening of football, thoroughly enjoyed by all, some great teamwork and individual skills on display. Congratulations to Woodmansey on winning the tournament for a second year in a row, they now go through to the next round of the competition. Good Luck.
