The School Sport Partnership, based at Bridlington School consists of 44 primary schools, 7 secondary schools and 1 special school across Bridlington, Beverley, South Holderness and Hornsea.

As a School Sport Partnership we have been in operation for almost 12 years and the National School Games Programme through the Youth Sport Trust is a fundamental part of our delivery, providing competitions to both primary and secondary age children. There are 6 School Sport Coordinators across the area that deliver the activities, and the partnership is managed by Angel Rhodes, Partnership Development Manager.

At the National Youth Sport Trust Summit in Coventry on the 13th October our School Sport Partnership was awarded the Regional and overall National Award for Outstanding Levels of Participation in Competition!

The award was presented on stage at the summit by Victoria Pendleton, Olympic Cycling Champion and Kimberly Wyatt, member of the Pussycat Dolls! We had major superstar honours - it was quite overwhelming!

Since September 2014 we have delivered competitive sport to almost 10,000 children across Bridlington, Beverley, Hornsea and South Holderness. We have delivered over 25 different sports and we have had nearly 700 young people leading and supporting our events.

Angel Rhodes, Partnership Development Manager said:

“This award belongs to the dedicated network of Head teachers, PE Coordinators, School Sport Coordinators and most importantly the pupils across all of our partnership schools - so thank you to them for their continued commitment to our competition programme and School Sport Partnership offer.”

Another huge success for the Partnership this year has been the number of National School Games Mark awards given to schools across the area. This is a National measure for PE and School Sport provision to both primary and secondary age children. Up to this point we have been number 1 in the Country for the number of schools achieving this award and for a record number of Gold Awards! Congratulations to all of our schools on an amazing year!
